Greek shipping will be one of the immediate beneficiaries of agreements signed in Athens by Greek Prime minister George Papandreou and his Chinese counterpart, Wen Jiabao over the October 2/3 weekend. In all, 11 agreements were signed, adding to 14 signed in shipbuilding and construction back in June when China's vice premier Zhang Dejiang led a strong delegation to Athens. This time round, China's PM Wen confirmed creation of a $5bn shipping fund to tighten relations between the countries' maritime industries and facilitate the sale of Chinese vessels to Greek owners who are currently building more than 300 ships in China.
