I actually wanted to join the Navy. My best friend kind of veered me into the Marine Corps, told me I'd be part of a family, a bigger thing, so I joined so I could be part of something. I wanted to venture out and meet new people. I wanted to see what the military was like. I also joined because of school... to see what my options were and be part of a bigger family and be a part of something other than myself. I had a cousin that left the Navy a few years before me and my brother joined.... He's in the Army. He's about two years old than me and joined about two months before me. We definitely argue a lot about what branch is better, but in the end, we both respect each other.
