Inadmissible evidence in Ouzocase

I would like to add something to the debate on the recent court proceedings concerning the acquittal of the officer of the watch (OOW) of the Pride of Bilbao, who was alleged to have caused the loss of the yacht Ouzo with three persons on board. I was once called as an expert witness in the defence of a second officer of a vessel which admittedly collided with - and sank -a small wooden fishing vessel in thick weather.
