Changes in non-domestic energy regulations are less drastic, partly driven by the belief that the 2010 requirements are closertothe'optimum'balance of energy reduction for this broader range of building types. Part L2 therefore proposes an overall carbon reduction target for new non-domestic construction of 10-12% based on an amount of notional renewable energy installed, although looks to base this on an energy assessment model more akin to that used in Ireland.
