Silence as Cultural Pedagogical Performance: Possibilities in Silence Research

摘要

As scholars from different disciplines continue to define silence merely as the opposite of speech, such construction reinforces the perception of silence as a negative attribute, especially in the classroom. Consequently, many scholars who study silence in pedagogy have pointed out that silence limits student learning.
