Isocyanate compounds can be reacted with alcohols, thiols, and amines to form urethanes, thiolourethanes, and urea products.While this can be achieved in a batch process, a continuous process can often be a beneficial alternative.It has been found that continuous processes for the formation of urethanes, thiolourethanes, and ureas as well as of products containing combinations of two or all of these functional groups show high potential.Specific products of these classes comprise urea urethanes (e.g., diureaurethanes containing two urea and two urethane groups), oligo-and polyureas, and polyurea compounds containing additional urethane groups.
