The present invention provides a connector assembly having a terminal 1 and carrier 2. Interlocking features 3 and 6 are provided on rod 1 and carrier 2, respectively. Conventionally, the connector assembly consisting a rod 1 and carrier 2 are assembled together by a snap ring 9 and subsequently fastened to a motor stator terminal, inverter bus bar or cable terminal and Drive Unit housing by fasteners. In this type of assembly, the snap ring 9 is required to keep the rod 1 in its place until the terminals are fastened. This function of the snap ring can be fulfilled by interlocking feature designs 3 and 6 on rod and carrier, respectively, thus eliminating the need for the snap ring and its meticulous assembly process.
