The readers' guide "compiled by librarians for librarians" is now into its sixth edition, updated with new genres, advisors (including contributions from Australia), and author suggestions. Fifteen years after first appearing on library shelves and just a few years since the last edition, also reviewed in these columns (RR 2006/150), Who Else Writes Like …? Continues to expand and improve as a quick reference tool, adding nearly 500 new authors and making it easier to find the right choice! As well as character lists and website recommendations, the sixth guide also aims to help young adults graduate easily from children's fiction to a wider range of more mature writing, by indicating which authors bridge the literary age range. Compiled from the Public Lending Right (PLR) register of authors whose books are most loaned by libraries, the suggestions remain popular and current, if not as comprehensive as some online sources.
