This is very much a reference work for the music school or conservatoire, as something to check early on when you start and later on when you are not quite clear what a musical term means. Matthew Hoch is a Professor of Voice at Auburn University (in Alabama, USA), active in New York singing pedagogy, and himself an experienced classical singer in opera, oratorio and Lieder. His approach is practical and modern, with an emphasis on singing rather than general musical terms and issues. So, at the centre of the dictionary part of the reference work (pp. 3-206) are terms most likely to be met with, and most likely to be in need of definition, by singers.
