The 'Santa Special' season is upon us, and the popularity of these trains means that enthusiasts fall by the wayside for a while.rnIt's time then to reflect on the past year. Tornado has, of course, dominated both the main line scene and the heritage lines it has visited - and deservedly so; the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust can be rightly proud. The idea of a main line footplate trip as an auction lot for the BBC's 'Children in Need' is truly inspirational.
