Appeal is launched to steam Shannon

An appeal has been launched to return the unique George England 0-4-0WT Shannon back to full working order in time for the Great Western Society's 50th anniversary celebrations in September. The appeal is a collaboration between the National Railway Museum, which owns the locomotive, the Great Western Society (the custodians of the locomotive at Didcot), and Steam Railway magazine.
