A deal has been completed between Harry Needle Railroad Company and a member of the Heritage Shunters Trust who each had a half share of D9500 and D9525. D9525 is now fully owned by the HST member who has passed the upkeep of the locomotive to the HST.D9500, the first of the class built by Swindon back in 1964, has passed into HNRC ownership. However, to save D9500 from going for scrap due to its poor internal condition, HNRC has sold the loco to Andrew Briddon, owner 'of 14901 (ex-D9524).Mr Briddon has indicated that he will be sourcing and fitting a replacement engine, ideally a Rolls Royce DV8TCE as fitted in 14901.
