Railbus to the rescue

Problems with the resident Class 127 unit have meant that the Midland Railway Butterley has been using the Class 141 for most of its summer DMU diagrams. The former Bedford-St Pancras unit, comprising Driving Motor Brakes 51591 and 51610, along with Trailer Composite 51604 currently has one engine out of action following piston and valve trouble, repairs to which are being delayed by the discovery that the engine is fitted with non-standard components. However problems with a further engine and with air leaks sidelined the unit at the end of July.
