Irish diesel day planned by ITG

A diesel gala is being held by the Irish Traction Group at the Downpatrick&Co. Down Railway (DCDR) on October 18 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the its formation. The gala will start at 1130 and run to around 1730. Motive power used duringthe day should feature locomotives A39,146, G611, G617 and hopefully C231 (subject to availability). C231 is currently operational, but still requires some further testing and if used will be its first passenger workings in over 30 years. The ITG is operating a special coach from Dublin to Downpatrick and back to connect with the event.
