Two Kings at WSR next year?

The tantalising possibility of a pair of GWR Kings at the West Somerset Railway (WSR) has been raised, with the consideration by the Great Western Society (GWS) to send BR blue 6023 King Edward Ⅱ to Somerset for testing, ahead of a main line debut. Although it is now halfway throueh its boiler ticket, 6023 has only ever worked brief trials in 2011 on the Great Central and North Norfolk Railways, which have revealed a number of problems. Since then the mandatory TPWS and OTMR have been fitted to the Didcot-based King, and draughting modifications made to cope with its cut-down chimney, lopping 4in off its height.
