THE NEW Platform 5 motive power pocket books for 2018 are on sale. The latest releases see the Locomotives book on its 60th edition, the Coaching Stock book on its 42nd edition and the two multiple unit books both on their 31st editions. The Locomotive book is once again 96 pages in length, while the DMU book is 88 pages, Coaches 112 pages and, yet again, showing the increase in orders in recent years, the perfect bound EMU book now runs to 136 pages. The loco book includes spot hire locos in amongst the main line fleet, such as the Class 03s at West Coast Railways and the numerous Class 08s. This also means a return of the Class 07, as 07007 is used by Arlington Fleet Services. It also includes a full list of locos moved abroad for reuse by other operators and those used on Channel Tunnel duties.
