But the TOC still remains concerned over performance in the run-up to the crucial December timetable change. According to insiders at Virgin, while recent PPM scores have been better than expected, the number of incidents due to infrastructure problems has remained constant, and at a level that the new Virgin High Frequency timetable will not be able to tolerate. A senior insider told RBI 'Network Rail continues to have a big hill to climb in four months to get to a launch level that will be acceptable'.
