In an interim management statement released on October 22, NEG reported that revenue at National Express East Anglia had grown by 1% in Q3 to September 30 2009. This and 'a solid performance' at c2c had been supported by 'increasing Olympic site traffic'. Against a background of 'difficult' trading conditions, NEG said the focus at its UK Rail business had been on 'improved productivity and cost control'.
