Gatwick Airport bottleneck to go

Network Rail announced on October 13 that funding totalling ￡52.8m had been agreed for the expansion of Gatwick Airport station, although most of the work will be carried out after the Olympic Games in 2012. The project should be completed in time for the December 2013 timetable change.rnNR is contributing ￡44.9m towards the project, while Gatwick Airport has agreed to provide the balance of ￡7·9m as part of a major ￡1bn expansion programme.
