Earlier this month Scottish Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson approved the first Transport ft Works (Scotland) Order to be granted under this legislation since it came into effect in December 2007. In doing so, he cleared the way for the final stage of Network Rail's programme to refurbish Edinburgh Waverley station.rnThis will see the Waverley Steps from Princes Street replaced by escalators and new stairs during 2011. Lifts will also be installed nearby during 2012.
