In an oral statement given to the House of Commons on December 20, Transport Secretary Philip Hammond confirmed that - with a few adjustments to mitigate local impacts - the alignmet selected by HS2 Ltd for a new high-speed line between London and the West Midlands (RB1362 p8) had been adopted by the government.
