As the Rail Delivery Group launched its 'Britain Runs on Rail' campaign (RBI515 p1) to raise public awareness of the £50bn being spent by Network Rail on renewals and enhancements in Control Period 5 as well as the 5 693 new cars committed for delivery by September 2020, in his speech to the UK Rail Industry Forum on September 14 RDG Chief Executive Paul Plum-mer called for an 'open and honest conversation' about the challenges facing the industry.
