摘要

The article "Neolithisation process within the Alboran territory: Models and possible African impact" (Linstadter et al., 2012) is one contribution from a special issue of "Quaternary International" dedicated to Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 806 "Our way to Europe", a German research project financed by the "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft" (DFG). The CRC, implemented by the Universities of Aachen, Bonn and Cologne, was established in 2009 and conceived for a run time of 12 years. The aim of the special issue of "Quaternary International" was to summarise the state of the art of research in the various working areas covered by CRC 806. These include Northern Africa, the Near East and Europe. Within the frame of this undertaking, the article by Linstadter et al. (2012) focuses on southern Andalusia, Murcia and eastern Morocco, the working area of the West Mediterranean branch of CRC 806. On the southern Iberian Peninsula a PhD project is currently concentrating on Epipalaeolithic and Early Neolithic assemblages kept at museums in Malaga, Almeria, Granada and Murcia. Additionally, further fieldwork is also being undertaken in the area of the eastern Rif and the Moulouya valley.
