Lighting is one of the many factors influencing human performance and comfort in crew accommodation spaces, as well as work areas. Lighting suitability, in terms of both quantity and quality, has an effect not only on comfort and productivity, but on human safety as well. It becomes especially important in the offshore and shipbuilding industries, which tend to have less than ideal working conditions.
