LDI: Here at Last

Tantalized by 10 years of media reports and technical papers about it, PCB fabricators at last started getting a look at laser direct imaging at trade shows late in the last century. But the machines were costly and cumbersome, the resists slow, and not many fabbers felt that their needs were compelling enough to invest in pioneering an unproven technology. Of the few who did, most were cooperative in telling us how their investments in the long-awaited LDI are working out.
