Capturing the aura and allure of the largest harbor in the United States is a daunting task at best. But Michael White has done an outstanding job in this pictorial presentation of the Port of Los Angeles. As with all books in the publisher's Images of America series the format is simple-large, well-defined photographs and concise yet informative captions. So heavily are the captions thernmain mode of information in this book that there are only six other pages of text. It is the photography that carries the story to its zenith in the diorama of Southern California's premier deep water harbor.
