The efficiency chain: The powder booth and part size In this issue, I'll continue my discussion of the efficiency chain as it relates to the powder booth. In the previous issue, I touched base on gun settings. Now I'll begin to cover different part types and sizes. I've divided these into three different batch sizes—small, medium, and large. This time, I'll cover small and medium batches. My hope is that you'll be able to powder coat any type part or size without having to stop and work out bugs that slow down production. I've included a few words on first pass transfer efficiency (FPTE) this time because it's always a factor when trying to improve efficiency.
