ERCOT dailies up but remain below $20/MWh

Electric Reliability Council of Texas dailies edged higher Friday as an expected drop in peak load for Monday was offset by a sharp increase in spot gas prices. ERCOT North Hub day-ahead on-peak rose 25 cents to around $18.75/MWh for Monday delivery on IntercontinentalExchange. Spot natural gas at Houston Ship Channel rose by 12.6 cents to $2.231/ MMBtu on ICE. Spot prices followed the NYMEX March futures contract higher after Thursday's bullish storage figure of a 211 Bcf drop in storage to 3.086 Tcf in the week ended January 22.
