CCAs rise, RGGIs fall on the week

California Carbon Allowances prices were higher on the IntercontinentalExchange for the trading week ended August 8, while RegionalGreenhouse Gas Initiative prices were lower over the same time.CCA Vintage 18 for December 2018 delivery were up about 2 centson the week at $15.31/metric ton on ICE as V19 for December 2019delivery also rose 2 cents near $16/mt.The upticks were likely to be driven by more buying interests. CCAshad over 9,000 contracts from 58 deals on ICE this week, up from3,702 contracts from 26 deals the previous week. V18 for December2018 had 22 deals that traded from $15.28/mt to $15.31/mt on ICE.California and Quebec started a joint cap-and-trade program in2014, with their first auction taking place in late 2014.Ontario joined the joint program at the start of this year, however,Ontario government said in June that it would exit the program.On ICE, RGGI Vintage 2018 for December 2018 fell 5 cents near$4.45/short ton as V19 for December 2019 was down by 5 cents to$4.67/st.
