NRG Energy to cut CO2 emissions by 50% by 2025, achieve net-zero by 2050

NRG Energy on Tuesday announced plans to cut carbon dioxide emissions from 2014 levels to 50% by 2025 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Industry observers said this makes solid business sense and can be done by cutting coal plant output while increasing use of other types of resources.
