Drax's exposure to "low dark green spreads" in the UK power market "is mitigated by a strong forward contracted position," the coal-fired generator said in an interim management statement November 9.rnThe green dark spread is the margin made on power sales by a coal-fired power station after the cost of coal and carbon are accounted for.rn"Good operational performance has allowed us to take advantage of Drax Power Station's reliability and flexibility to maintain a high load factor," it said. "As a result, we continue to trade in line with expectations for the year."
