EPC contractor sought for new oil shale-fired units

Estonia's state-controlled power company Eesti Energia has invited prequalification applications by September 17 for the engineering, procurement and construction of an oil shale-fired power plant with installed capacity of between 600 MW and 800 MW at its Narva power complex in Vaivara, in the northeastern county of Ida-Virumaa. Eesti Energia announced in late May that its supervisory board had approved a decision to commission an oil shale processing plant as well as tender for up to two oil shale-fired units as part of a new Kroon 3 billion (€192 million) oil shale energy complex (EiEE 166/1).
