摘要

Maybe it was at the company Christmas party or perhaps at a bar on a Friday afternoon after work. "There's 'Joan' from Accounting—and she looks drunk," someone comments. After a while, you learn that Joan is an alcoholic. As a manager, your natural reaction is to want to fire, transfer or replace her. Joan, however, could file a suit under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and would probably win. She has done nothing wrong except abuse alcohol, an action protected by the ADA.
