‘Fee-for-fault' consultation underway

THE HEALTH and Safety Executive (HSE) has published details of its proposed new system for recovering regulatory costs from those who break health and safety laws. The Fee-for-lntervention scheme, which could come into operation across Britain as early as April 2012, will see HSE charging f133 per hour for regulatory activities its inspectors have to undertake as a result of a 'material' breach of health and safety law.
