Nuclear power plant decom-missioning presents several challenges in radiation protection. The plant demolition requires consideration of radiation protection for workers, protection of the public, and careful materials management. Decommissioning of the Southern California Edison's San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Unit 1 presented some additional challenges, as well.
