Guangdong record EPR deal

China Guangdong Nuclear Power Company (CGNPC) and Areva have signed an unprecedented €8 billion ($12 billion) deal for the material and services for two EPRs at Taishan, in China's Guangdong province. Electricite de France (EdF) and CGNPC have also signed a joint venture agreement for ownership, construction and operation of the two EPRs. As part of the new joint venture agreement, EdF will acquire a one-third shareholding in Taishan Nuclear Power Company, which will own the new plants.
