New year, new beginnings

Welcome to the first edition of Nuclear Future journal for 2017. February 2017 will see the appointment of our new Nuclear Institute CEO, Sarah Beacock. Sarah will bring a wealth of Professional Engineering Institute (PEI) senior management experience to the Nl, having played a major part in growing the Energy Institute. More details on her background can be found on page 14 in this edition. On behalf of the Institute, I want to thank Alastair Laird, our interim CEO, for his skilful management of the transition between change of CEOs. During his time, Alastair introduced our first Volunteers Forum, held in Crewe last October. This was a key event that brought together volunteers, trustees and staff, with the aim of building and sharing our business plan. Alastair will now return to his trustee role.
