The trajectories and group delay time of magnetostatic surface waves (MSSWs) propagating in a ferrite film and ferrite-metal structures magnetized by nonuniform fields of different types are calculated. It is shown that, both in the ferrite film and in the ferrite-metal structure, the delay time of the wave increases mono-tonically with the distance the wave travels, and the higher the frequency, the greater the increase. The rate of the time delay rise in the ferrite film has been found to be close to its initial value over the entire length of the trajectory. It has been found that the rate of the time delay rise in the ferrite-metal structure, being first lower than that in the ferrite film by more than an order of magnitude, sharply increases and tends to infinity as the trajectory approaches the region in which the field is close to upper field boundary of the MSSW spectrum.
