The wonders of modern medical science are indeed great, but convention medicine is not without its critics. Many healthcare professionals are concerned that the use of toxic drugs and invasive diagnostic techniques may cause, not cure, illness. They also see that the medical system's impersonal style of diagnosis and treatment deprives individuals of a sense of control over their health.
