Background Nonfunctioning pituitary macroadenoma (NFMA) is a benign neoplasm that causes visual function disturbances and headaches and can be treated by transsphenoidal surgery (TSS). It is unclear how quality of life (QOL) changes with surgery and which QOL factors are affected by treatment.
