This paper presents an initial operational architecture of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Continuous Trail Unmanned Vehicle (ACTUV) equipped with a Surface Warfare (SuW) capable suite of systems. We present an operational description of both the ACTUV and the relevant SuW enabling systems necessary for the realization of a SuW capable Medium Displacement Unmanned Surface Vehicle (MDUSV), commonly referred to as Sea Hunter. We develop initial functional and physical architectures for the MDUSV and provide initial recommendations regarding employment of the MDUSV as a SuW asset in support of the Navy's Distributed Lethality concept.
