Biochip development is continuing at speed - with entire genomes on a single DNA microarray, chips that can help link genome to proteome, and even complete experimental and analytical protocols on a single chip. These advances mean that increasing amounts of data are being generated by disparate technologies. Data mining software, therefore, also plays a vital role in biochip development.
