Two districts hope to save more than £15m over 10 years by appointing a joint chief executive and forming a strategic alliance. If backed by councillors, East Lindsey DC and Boston BC will formally join forces in July with the appointment of a joint statutory head of paid service, monitoring officer and Section 151 finance officer before wider collaboration in other areas, including a shared management team. The idea has been worked on for 18 months behind the scenes and is understood to have not been prompted either by the coronavirus crisis or any threat of reorganisation.
