Info sharing team scales down amid funds issues

A 'crack team' launched to improve information sharing across the public sector has announced it is scaling back its work after failing to secure funding.The Centre of Excellence for Information Sharing, which helped councils, Government departments, police, health agencies and others to work together, has put the majority of its team members on notice four years after it was created.In an email to stakeholders last week, centre director Stephen Curtis said he and a small group of team members were now looking at whether they could develop an alternative delivery model to 'enable us to continue to build on our past successes'.It read: 'Although there is a strong commitment to information sharing in the public sector, we have been unable to secure the funding required for the centre to continue its work in its current form.'
