Aluminum Production Falls For May, Reports Aluminum Ass'n

Based on surveys, the U.S. annual rate of primary aluminum production totaled 1,731,124 metric tons during May 2009, a drop of 37.8 percent from the May 2008 total of 2,781,753 tons. Compared to the previous mouth, the annual rate of production declined 1.9 percent from the April 2009 annual rate of 1,764,641 tons.
