Layle K. (Kip) Smith, President and CEO of Noranda Aluminum Holding Company, has been appointed to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Aluminum Association. Smith currently serves on the Association's Board of Directors and Executive Committee. As Vice-Chairman, he will also chair the Association's Strategic Planning Committee.Regarding his appointment, Smith said, "I am honored to be elected to the Vice-Chairmanship of the Aluminum Association. The work of the Aluminum Association is vital to the long-term success and growth of the U.S. aluminum industry. I am especially excited to be joining the Association as it begins a new phase of communications on the sustainable nature of aluminum following the technical Sus-tainability Report released last September."
