Penn Waste Opens New MRF

Earlier this year, Penn Waste, Inc., a solid waste collection and recycling company based in York, Pennsylvania, opened a new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Manchester. "Penn Waste is committed to finding new and innovative ways to pull as many recyclables as possible out of the waste stream. Our new facility allows us the opportunity to do that more efficiently. Public support of recycling has grown extensively over the years and we are committed to being an industry leader in south central Pennsylvania," said Scott Wagner, Owner and President of Penn Waste. The new MRF replaced two older facilities.The 96,000 square-foot Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is designed to process recyclables from residential single-stream collections, as well as from commercial accounts. The new building and equipment upgrades Penn Waste's sorting and processing capability to 35 tons of recyclables per hour, significantly up from the 10 tons per hour the old system handled.
