People often ask me what the attraction is in working for an organisation such as the NFU. There were several reasons at the time, not least of which was my perverse interest in farming policy. But one that has certainly stood out over the years is the relationships and friendships that are built up with farmers. It has been a privilege to get to know some of the best milk producers in the country, both in terms of business acumen and political astuteness.
