Britain could not compete with the rest of the world by dumbing down on the skills front. And Sir Terry Leahey, chief executive of Tesco has warned that even the Prime Minister's vision of a hi-tech, highly trained Britain won't happen unless something is done about basic skills. In other words, industries, including the dairy sector, can only do so much. The raw material must be delivered by the education system.
