Those with long memories will remember the underwater IED threat resulted in a multitude of new platforms, sensors, and countermeasures. Saab's answer is a new underwater anti-IED ROV, named SEA WASP, a 1.7m long vehicle that relocates, identifies, and neutralises IEDs in the confined areas of ports and harbours. Carrying navigation sensors, cameras, and a sonar system, SEA WASP is typified by a modular design that allows its basic configuration to be altered to suit each mission.
